Chris Mierzwa
Vice President, Servers, Storage & Cloud Strategy

Chris Mierzwa graduated from Purdue University in 1992 with a degree in computer and electrical engineering, along with minors in math and business. During his studies, he also worked in the IBM coop program at their mainframe labs in Kingston, NY, as part of their vector processor development effort for high-performance processing. After graduation, Mr. Mierzwa was awarded a full DARPA scholarship to the University of Southern California, where he received his master’s degree in computer engineering in 1994.

Upon receiving his MS, Mr. Mierzwa went to work for Hewlett-Packard, where he was a West Coast sales engineer for their Semiconductor Test and Measurement division, serving customers such as Intel, LSI Logic and Lockheed Martin. In 1995, he returned to IBM as a sales specialist for RS/6000 minicomputers, for customers in the entertainment, education, and state and local government sectors.

In 1998, Mr. Mierzwa accepted a position as executive VP of sales and marketing at Think Tank Systems, a value-added reseller start-up, which he helped build into a $40 million business with a focus on IBM pSeries, Storage and Netfinity.

Mr. Mierzwa came to Sirius in 2002 as the director of Open Systems and Storage, a role in which he built Sirius' national team of sales specialists for IBM pSeries/System p servers and Storage. Two years later he was named the area sales manager for the Northeast region, which grew to a $75 million territory by the time he left the position three years later, garnering him Sirius' Sales Manager of the Year recognition in both 2005 and 2006.

In 2007, Mr. Mierzwa was promoted to VP of Business Development and Product Strategy, the position he held for only six months before being named VP of Product Management and Alliances, with specific responsibility over the pre-sales teams for IBM System p and System i (now Power Systems), System x, and Storage.

In his current role, his wide range of responsibilities includes emerging server and storage technologies, the Cisco practice, business development, and Sirius' Alliances group. In 2009, Mr. Mierzwa expanded his role to include the Dynamic Infrastructure Specialty Elite program in which he and his team became fully certified, earning Sirius the first Specialty and Specialty Elite designations for the IBM Dynamic Infrastructure program.

Over the years, Mr. Mierzwa has represented Sirius at a number of advisory councils, including those of IBM, Cisco, Oracle and others.
