How Resilient is Your IT Environment?
Business continuity is no longer an option. High availability and disaster recovery is a key initiative for most CIOs today. Keeping every aspect of your company's operation up and running is vital, and IT plays a key role in that operation.

Resilience is the ability to take a blow ...
and keep on going.

Engage Sirius to help with continuity planning, implementation or audits

Comprehensive Business Continuity Planning and Optimization
Most organizations are required to have key capabilities readily deployed to handle any emergency situations that might affect the business. Business Continuity planning helps to protect your IT environment during planned and unplanned downtime, ensuring a smooth continuation of your IT infrastructure, applications and end-to-end business functions.

Sirius provides two types of business continuity expertise:

First, we have experience and certifications in high availability and disaster recovery solutions specific to products. For example, IBM Power Systems, IBM System z, NetApp storage - and many more of our solutions have specific products and tools that provide business continuity.

Second, we have experience in product agnostic business continuance solutions. Assessments, policy awareness, compliance and auditing requirements are all examples of solutions that span across all product families.

 How much does downtime cost?
There are different resilience tiers that define just how much downtime a company can afford anually, monthly or weekly. The higher your resilience tier, the higher the costs of IT tools and practices put in place.

If you have 99% availability, that means you have unplanned downtime of almost two hours per week. By today's standards, and for many companies that is unacceptable. At continuous availability (five nines or 99.999%) means less than six minutes per year. Big difference.

Unplanned Downtime
Hardware outages
System failures due to natural phenomena
Security threats / breaches
Database / application corruption
Networking outages

Planned Downtime
Hardware, operating system and application upgrades
General system maintenance
Database reorganizations
Backups
System balancing
How safe is your data?
Your data may be backed up and encrypted…but are your servers safe from natural disasters and malicious attacks? Statistically, most companies never fully recover financially from a catastrophic computer system failure (more than 10 days of downtime)…and almost half consequently go out of business within two years.
