Disk Drive Retention Service Secures Data on Failed or Retired Drives (July 2011) |
Keeping data secure is important not only for online data, but also for data on failed or proactively replaced technology equipment that has been taken out of service. To help ensure data security compliance, Sirius offers a Disk Drive Retention Service (DDRS) that allows you to retain disk drives that have been replaced as a result of a repair action. Normally, the technician will return the defective drive to the manufacturer for warranty credit and/or reutilization. With DDRS, you retain title and possession of failed drives for disposal in accordance with your internal data security policies. Sensitive proprietary or customer data on the disk drive is not allowed to leave your location, ensuring its security.
Sirius clients who take advantage of DDRS can satisfy internal security and other regulatory requirements while taking advantage of simplified and predictable maintenance costs. The maintenance and support pricing structure for Sirius DDRS is simple, easy to understand, and allows for annual budgeting predictability.
